Florida Home Partnership, Inc., a non-profit home builder and developer is expanding its operation to include an 80 unit townhome development in Plant City, Florida. This Friday (January 11), Hillsborough County commissioners will join the staff of Hillsborough County Affordable Housing Services and Florida Home Partnership (FHP) in a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of Alexander Woods Townhomes.
Earl Pfeiffer, Executive Director of FHP said 'We are extremely excited to begin our third decade of service to the community by providing a new product in a new market segment. FHP has long searched for housing product that would serve the Plant City market, and we feel confident that Alexander Woods Townhomes is such a product.'
The town homes consist of two and three bedroom units priced around $80,000 for qualified homebuyers. At the moment the development has 14 townhome available. A total of 66 units will be built, with 10 more expected to be ready by the middle of the year, and 14 by the year-end. All newly-built units are Energy Star certified and Green Built, and include features such as ceramic flooring and granite counters for some kitchens, along with high ceilings. A swimming pool is currently under construction, and a playground and picnic area are also planned as part of the community's amenity package.
Hillsborough County received $19 million through the Neighborhood Stabilization Program to purchase and redevelop foreclosed or abandoned properties such as Alexander Woods Townhomes in order to create safe and affordable homes in neighborhoods. These investments have also positively impacted local businesses.
